One of the fun things of being around kids (parent or otherwise) is the great things they say, here are some of my favorite language interpretations from our house:
Polka Dots = Dolka Bots (was sad when my daughter outgrew this one)
Saturn = Saturin (kind of like saccharin but more celestial)
Jupiter = Juptiter (and you must say this with enthusiasm, it is a big planet, “JOOP-titer”!
Covers = Cubbers (Mom, tuck me in under the cubbers!)
Thanks = Stanks! (I think we’ve all adopted this one)
Flamingo = Flingerbell (distant relative of Tinkerbell perhaps?)
Helicopter = Hockey Dockey (Look – it’s a hockey dockey!…much more fun to say than helicopter anyway)
Diary = Diarrhea (we did actually work on correcting this one…”Look at my new diarrhea” didn’t go over well with company)
